What does that mean? Well, in most cases it will mean slogging it out in the same job, maybe with the odd promotion along the line, until you hit retirement age. And when you do hit retirement age what do you have to look forward to – a gold watch or a crystal decanter in which to put your single malt whisky – if you can afford it, of course.
